The Art Of Solitude

As humans, we all yearn for soul-deep relationships, and when we don't find them, we begin to doubt ourselves. If this goes unchecked, we spew hatred towards oneself, and you begin to wonder why. "Why am I like this?"

However, keep in mind that not all connections are positive or beneficial to you. As a result, the unavoidable wait for time comes into play. Timing is everything; but, patience must be learnt. It can be incredibly lonely, to the point of eating your mind, but your patience will be rewarded in the end. However, don't allow loneliness to envelope your mind. Protect it! and use it to do things that you love, be around people you love, and elevate yourself to new heights. The times when you spend time with yourself are key, precious moments that will define your future, and ultimately, this will help you get to where you want to be.

When you devote all your energy to yourself, your brain will reach capacities greater than before. You’ll reach epiphanies in your life more often, which will teach you more about yourself or show you something you would have never seen without spending time in solitude because you were distracted externally instead of focusing internally. Internal changes come before external ones; if you want the external to change, it has to start from within.

It’s hard, don’t get me wrong, which is why only a few can say they successfully make this a routine, but you can still reap benefits just by doing this once. The most famous person to do this was in fact Jesus; he utilised solitude to its fullest, and even though Jesus did have his disciples around him, we see that Jesus spent a lot of his time alone and would often go to quiet places and pray.

So i encourage you to make this a habit. After a while, you’ll reflect on these times and appreciate them. You’ll also appreciate the journey, how far you’ve come, and times like this. Bathing in solitude will always be useful throughout your life. If you don’t understand it now, you will surely understand it later…
